What is a virtual account ?
A virtual account on IST Markets replicates the same features and market conditions as a real trading account, but is used for simulation purposes only. It is ideal for testing out the platform and practicing your trading skills, since the virtual account is completely free, without any fees or loss of actual capital.
What's the between a demo account and a real account?
Trading in a virtual account is simulated and uses virtual funds only. Trading in a real account is actual trading using real funds that you have deposited in your IST Markets account balance.
How do i set up my free demo account?
Just follow these 3 simple steps:
1-Log in to the IST Markets platform or create an account for free.
2-Access the demo by selecting Virtual Portfolio from the menu under your username at the top left-hand corner of your account dashboard.
3-You will see $100,000 in virtual funds appear in your balance.
How can i switch between real and virtual account?
1-Log in to the IST Markets platform or create an account for free.
2-Click on the Real/Virtual button under your username at the top left-hand corner of your account dashboard.
3-A menu will appear, where you can choose between Real Portfolio and Virtual Portfolio.
You may use the Real/Virtual menu to switch between Real Portfolio and Virtual Portfolio at any time.
How do i add funds to my virtual account?
You may use the Real/Virtual menu to switch between Real Portfolio and Virtual Portfolio at any time.
Users can add funds to their virtual accounts by opening a ticket with Customer Service. Specify in your message how much you would like to have added. The maximum amount we can add to your virtual balance is $100,000. We can also remove virtual funds from your account down to a minimum of $2,000.
Is the pratice account suitable for beginners?
New investors will find the virtual account very useful. IST Markets demo mode simulates real-world trading, allowing beginners to learn how to trade by practicing for free.
Can i trade real-time stocks in the virtual account?
Yes, you can trade stocks in real time while using the virtual account, which has all the same market conditions as real trading on the platform.
Please note that trading in the virtual account carries no fees whatsoever and has no effect on your real IST Markets portfolio.
Can i copy other traders on IST Markets in the virtual account?
Yes, the CopyTrader feature is available in the demo, and functions the same way as it does in real mode.
Is it possible to trade CFDs and leverage in the virtual account ?
Yes, CFD trading and leverage are available in the demo, and function the same way as they do in real mode.
